Information and communication technology (ICT) is a key ingredient in the economic growth of the developed world. However developing countries like Pakistan have severely lagged behind in the application of ICT for development. According to a recent report by the Pew Research Center, Pakistan has one of the lowest rates of computer and Internet users in the world—only 9 percent of the population have access to a computer and less than 5 percent use the Internet. The aim of this project is to bring the revolution of ICT to the masses in Pakistan. To achieve this, the researchers involved propose to establish a multidisciplinary collaboration between University of California, Berkeley’s successful TIER program (Technology Infrastructure for Emerging Regions) and a number of public-private stakeholders in Pakistan. The proposed TIER-Pakistan program will develop ICT solutions for reducing poverty, improving health-care, and enabling pervasive access to education in Pakistan. Besides the primary partner institutions, the effort will involve participants from a broad range of public-sector organizations in Pakistan, including the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Pakistan Virtual University (VU), Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Pakistan Telecommunication (PTCL), and Punjab Directorate of Staff Development (DSD).

We are working under ICT in AGILE Technologirs PUCIT Old Campus, Punjab University Lahore in two teams.

We have completed one project for PUCIT Online Admission that is to facilitate the new students to take admission online form there homes by filling admission form with required inormations and can see their marit lists online as well to save their time. url: http://admissions.pucit.edu.pk

We have completed an Online PUCIT Course Management System that is deployed for testing purpose and we come online soon to facilitate the students of PUCIT to check their classes schedule and see their resuts as well as get their transcripts online and much more.

We have completed three modules/components for Joomla CMS those are accepted for Joomla CMS.
